The Forsythe Company presents Decreation
Feelings of tenderness and rage pulse throughout William Forsythe’s award-winning Decreation, which was choreographed in 2003 for Ballet Frankfurt, after an essay by Canadian poet Anne Carson.
Inspired by Carson’s poem, Forsythe charts the destructive end of a relationship between a man and a woman as 15 dancers of the Forsythe Company drift in and out of a deep, bare stage; shuddering and collapsing as a video camera relays the action on to a man-sized screen.
An onstage keyboard player sits beside, against a live soundscape of distorted vocal noises, plus music by David Morrow.
Running time: TBA. NB: No admittance to children under the age of 16.
Friday 24th – Sunday 26th April 2009
